Regional Sales Manager - Elgin, IL


You are a highly motivated, technically well versed individual, experienced in providing expert advice, and selling technical products. You are used to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage geographically diverse sales region.
  • Interact with customers to understand their requirements and sell high end goods or services which meet their interests. Interact with other sales managers to discuss project needs and provide input.
  • Maintain and develop sales channels including manufacturer’s representatives, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), end users and other strategic alliances.
  • Assist in the sales process by educating representatives, consultants and others through group presentations, face-to-face meetings and trade
    shows.
  • Develop engineering specifications and assist representatives with documentation and technical requirements throughout the sales cycle.
  • Accomplish marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs; developing field sales action plans.
  • Identify marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
  • Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities.
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplish marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of standards, emissions requirements and common practices in all areas of the region.
  • Travel within the region is required.


Education:

  • A university degree or college degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum ten years of previous experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a sales position preferably in the HVAC industry.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Broad understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment & systems.
  • Technical and market knowledge of Weishaupt products including competitors is preferred.
  • Ability to assimilate information from engineering drawings & specifications, technical literature, standards, product information catalogues, etc. 
  • Possess good business acumen, and understand sales practices.
  • German language is considered a plus, but is not mandatory.
