Dipl.-Wi.-Ing. Thomas Weishaupt has been appointed to the board of Max Weishaupt GmbH

Thomas Weishaupt (41) has joined the board of Max Weishaupt GmbH with effect from 1 February 2016. The business is now led by Dipl.-Ing. Siegfried Weishaupt, his son, Dipl.-Wi.-Ing. Thomas Weishaupt (both as Managing Shareholders), and Dr Karl-Heinz Romer (56), who has been a Managing Director since 2008.

In conjunction with Thomas Weishaupt’s appointment to the board of Max Weishaupt GmbH, both he and Dr Karl-Heinz Romer simultaneously join the board of Weishaupt Holding.
The appointment determines the future direction of the family-led firm. In particular, Siegfried Weishaupt has secured the on-going management of the company by the family through this appointment of his son, Thomas Weishaupt, to the board.

Thomas Weishaupt has been working for the company for more than ten years. Initially at the helm of International Sales, recent years have seen him heading Domestic Sales too. He studied at the University of Karlsruhe, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management (Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur), after which he completed an MBA at the INSEAD School in Singapore.

With a turnover in excess of €540m, Weishaupt is one of the leading companies in the fields of energy technology, energy recovery, and energy management. Production of burners, heating systems, solar energy technology, and heat pumps at its sites in Schwendi, Sennwald, and Donaueschingen ensures that Max Weishaupt GmbH is well prepared for the future. The Weishaupt Group also includes BauGrund Süd, one of Germany’s largest geothermal probe and well drilling businesses, for the recovery of near-surface geothermal energy. The Neuberger Gebäudeautomation company is the Group’s building management and automation specialist, completing the Group’s trio of operating areas – Energy Technology (Weishaupt), Energy Recovery (BauGrund Süd) and Energy Management (Neuberger).
