Pilsner Urquell Brewery: Weishaupt gas burners on the brewing kettles
Pilsner Urquell is a beer produced by Plzeňský Prazdroj in Pilsen, Czech Republic, since 1842. It was the first beer produced using the Pilsner brewing method, on which almost all later lager beers are based. Hops from the traditional growing regions in northern Bohemia are used in its production. The brand name refers to its place of origin, Pilsen.
In 2018, a partial modernization of the burners on the brewery's direct-fired brewing kettles was due. Based on its positive experience with the Weishaupt G5 gas burners already installed, Pilsner Urquell once again opted for combustion technology from the global market leader. Four Weishaupt monarch® WM-G10 gas burners were used. Despite difficult combustion chamber conditions, the new Czech emission regulations were complied with.
